Pedestrian Fatality: An elderly man was killed Thursday night when he was hit by a pick-up truck while crossing the street near the retirement home in which he lived. John Patrick Dunn, 80, a resident of Westbrook Royale, 13881 Dawson St., was crossing Westminster Avenue at Dawson about 9:20 p.m. when he was struck in a crosswalk area, according to Garden Grove Police Sgt. Bruce Beauchamp. Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver has not yet been charged, pending further investigation.
