Elephant Sent to Nepal, a Gift From Thai King

KATMANDU, Nepal — Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej gave an elephant as a gift to King Birendra and the people of Nepal on Saturday, the Himalayan ministate’s official news agency said.
The elephant, sent from Bangkok, was received by Nepalese officials at Katmandu airport. In return, Nepal will send the Thais a pair of Asian rhinos.
