Unocal agreed to halt coupon mailings in California.
The Los Angeles-based oil company stopped distribution of discount coupons for gas and repairs at Pro-Tech stations pending an Aug. 21 Alameda County court hearing. The California Service Station Assn. sued Unocal, claiming dealers were forced to honor the coupons. Unocal mailed coupons to customers with the same zip codes as 300 West Coast dealers who agreed to participate.
