Three Mile Island’s Unit 1 reactor, which escaped the accident that crippled an adjacent plant, will be turned back on once final clearance is received from the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission, officials said in Harrisburg, Pa. GPU Nuclear Corp. is awaiting a formal notification from the NRC, which could come as soon as today, said GPU President Philip R. Clark.
