San Fernando Council Candidates Interviewed
Members of the San Fernando City Council said they are interviewing candidates to replace Councilman Patrick Modugno, who resigned Aug. 20 because he moved out of the city.
The council also has the option to hold a special election or to leave the seat vacant until the next municipal election, in April. It must, however, make a decision Sept. 16 at its next meeting, City Administrator Don Penman said.
Most council members said they favor appointing someone to fill the unexpired term. But Councilwoman Cam Noltemeyer said she would prefer to leave the seat vacant until April.
Mayor Doude Wysbeek said three residents have expressed interest in the position.
