Solana Beach
Two Los Angeles-area men were arrested in a Solana Beach restaurant Thursday afternoon on suspicion of bookmaking, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said. William Michaels, 61, of Arcadia, and Albert Stunt, 55, of Compton, were arrested by sheriff’s vice detectives in Slyk’s restaurant after conducting a horse racing seminar in which they collected about $700 to be placed as wagers at Del Mar Race Track, the spokesman said. The pair was booked at the County Jail in Vista.
