Applied Micro Circuits Corp., a privately held company, reported that revenue increased 14% to $4.8 million for the first quarter ended June 30. Although the company did not release net income figures, Chairman and Chief Executive Roger Smullen said the company used “tight cost controls” to remain profitable.
