Cypress : 2 Girls Foil 3 Men in Rape-Kidnap Attempt
Police were investigating an attempted rape and kidnap of two 13-year-old girls who fought their way free Thursday from three men who tried to abduct them at the intersection of Ball Road and Juanita Street in Cypress.
Sgt. Gordon Re said the girls were accosted about 7 p.m. by three men in a green van with a black swirl design on the side and a custom luggage rack. Two men pulled one of the girls into the van while the other girl struggled in the street with the third, he said.
The girl inside the van freed herself by smashing one of the men’s glasses when he began taking off his clothes, Re said. Once she was outside the van, both girls began screaming and the vehicle left traveling westbound on Ball, he said. Neither girl was injured.
Two of the men were described as in their 20s, one with bushy eyebrows and short brown hair, the other overweight with a mustache, thick sideburns and wearing glasses. The third man was described only as somewhat older than his accomplices.
