Israel, Egypt to Negotiate on Disputed Beach Resort
(UPI)
CAIRO — Israeli officials who took part in talks with Egypt over a disputed strip of beach returned home Friday after agreeing with the Egyptians on an agenda for next week’s negotiations to resolve the conflict.
An Israeli delegate said the two parties agreed Thursday on an agenda for negotiations on the resort of Taba, a small strip of beach on the Gulf of Aqaba that is claimed by both countries.
The area remained under Israeli control after Israel completed its withdrawal from the Sinai in 1982.
