Oberschlake Leads Rancho Santiago to Volleyball Victory
Anne Oberschlake had 14 kills and 4 blocks Wednesday night to lead the Rancho Santiago College women’s volleyball team to a 6-15, 15-12, 15-7, 6-15, 15-9 victory over Fullerton in a South Coast Conference match played in the Dons’ gym.
Lana Freedman added 8 kills, Tricia Sassan had 13 assists and Gina Myers had 10 service aces to help Rancho Santiago improve its conference record to 2-0 and overall record to 2-1.
In other South Coast Conference action:
Golden West 3, Saddleback 0--Middle blocker Cece Elias had 9 kills and 5 blocks to lead the Rustlers to a 15-13, 15-3, 15-11, win over the Gauchos at Saddleback. Kathy Wissman added 7 kills and 4 blocks to help Golden West improve to 3-0 in conference.
Orange Coast 3, Mt. San Antonio 0--The Pirates, led by Barbara Bally, Gail Schmidt and Stacye Smythe, beat the Mounties at Orange Coast. The Pirates are 2-1 in conference and 3-2 overall.
In collegiate action:
Pomona-Pitzer 3, Christ College 0--Pomona-Pitzer swept the Eagles, 15-9, 15-10, 15-6 in a nonconference match at Irvine.
