Second-Place Finish Earns Mauch’s Angels a Little Second Guess

I’ve been an Angel fan for 25 years and at no time during this baseball season did it occur to me that we would not be in the playoffs. It was an exciting season due primarily to the presence of Gene Mauch. His baseball knowledge is second to none. As long as Gene Mauch is the manager of the Angels, I know we will be in contention regardless of the opinions of the so-called experts.
