Servite’s Sixth a 41-6 Laugher
Senior quarterback Tim Rosenkranz threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns Friday night to lead unbeaten Servite High School past Pius X, 41-6, in the Angelus League opener for both schools in Downey.
Senior wide receiver Jeff Fieldhouse caught all three scoring passes from Rosenkranz, including a 53-yarder late in the third quarter.
The Friars (6-0) entered the game ranked No. 1 in Orange County and fourth in the Southern Section’s Big Five Conference. Pius X, off to its best start since 1980, is 4-2.
Rosenkranz completed 13-of-17 in three quarters. After opening the game 3-for-8, he completed his final 10 passes. He also ran for another score.
In contrast, the Servite rushing attack netted just 92 total yards.
Servite grabbed a 21-0 halftime lead on a two-yard touchdown run by Derek Noggle with 1:25 to go in the first quarter, Rosenkranz’ two-yard scamper with 1:37 left in the second, and the first of his scoring tosses to Fieldhouse, (a six-yard strike) as time ran out in the first half.
