A 3-year-old Idyllwild boy whose arm was torn off by pet wolves remained hospitalized after surgery, authorities said. Paramedics said Christopher Nimitz had stuck his arm Friday through the fence of a pen where his father kept two North American Timber wolves. An Idyllwild Fire Department spokesman said the animals lunged at the boy and ripped off his left arm at the shoulder. He was flown by helicopter to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. Hospital officials refused to comment on the boy’s condition.
