A Marine from Camp Pendleton was killed in Oceanside when he was run over by a North County Transit District bus he apparently was trying to catch, a police spokesman said. Pvt. Henry Lee Ford, 23, suffered traumatic injuries to the head after he chased after the bus, which was making a U-turn in front of the North County Transit District Center and fell under the rear wheels of the vehicle, said Sgt. Bill Krunglevich, Oceanside police spokesman. The driver of the bus, Anthony Childs, apparently did not see Ford trying to catch the bus, Krunglevich said, adding that Childs was also not aware that he ran over Ford until a dispatcher at the transit center radioed him.
