Woman Dressed in Army Fatigues Opens Fire at Shopping Center; Two Killed, Eight Wounded
Associated Press
SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — A woman in Army fatigues and black boots opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle in a crowded shopping mall Wednesday, killing two persons and wounding eight others before she was subdued by a passer-by, police said.
Sylvia Seegrist, 25, was taken into custody after the shootings at the Springfield Mall, said Police Chief George Hill. The popular shopping center was then closed.
Police had dealt with the Crumlyn woman before because of “emotional problems,” the district attorney’s office said.
