2nd Quake in Two Days Hits Aleutian Islands

WASHINGTON — The second moderate earthquake in two days hit the Aleutian Islands on Thursday and was centered about 800 miles east of Wednesday’s tremor, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
Thursday’s quake, which measured 5.7 on the Richter scale, was centered in the Fox Islands, about 25 miles northwest of Dutch Harbor on Unalaska Island. The earlier quake measured 5.3 on the scale.
