Athletes in Action Defeats UAB, 79-66
Alabama-Birmingham, ranked 17th in preseason college basketball polls, proved no match for San Diego-based Athletes in Action Saturday night, losing, 79-66, in Birmingham.
AIA (5-1) outscored UAB, 15-4, to open the game and led by as much as 67-42 in the late-going.
Tracy Jackson led AIA with 21 points, and Michael Wiley added 16. AIA plays Monday at Florida and Tuesday at Maryland.
