San Gabriel : New Planned Parenthood Clinic
Planned Parenthood of Pasadena will open a clinic at 207 E. Broadway to serve an estimated 18,000 women in need of family planning services in the Alhambra Health District. The district includes Alhambra, San Gabriel, South Pasadena, San Marino, Temple City, Rosemead and Monterey Park.
The clinic, which will open before the end of the year, will provide birth control assistance and pregnancy testing and counseling. Fees will be on a sliding scale based on ability to pay. Women eligible for state and federal assistance will receive free care. Planned Parenthood received a foundation grant of $20,000, private funding of $75,000 and still has to raise $25,000 to sustain the clinic for a year.
