A decision on Gerry Faust’s future as football coach at Notre Dame will be made in two weeks, according to Athletic Director Gene Corrigan. He told the Associated Press that the decision would be made within a week after the Fighting Irish play Miami Nov. 30.
Faust is 30-24-1 with two games left on his five-year contract.
Sports Editor Bob Collins of the Indianapolis Star said in a column that Faust will be coaching his last two games at Notre Dame and that Minnesota’s Lou Holtz is Faust’s likely successor.
