Stanton Man Held in Fatal Shooting
A Stanton man was killed, and another man was jailed on suspicion of murder after an argument early Saturday morning, police said.
Two men were arguing at about 4:30 a.m. at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Court Street when one pulled a gun and shot the other, Stanton Police Lt. Don Creel said. Jose Luis Perez Florez, 27, died at the scene, he said.
About five hours later, police arrested Antonio Lopez, 36, also of Stanton in an unincorporated area next to the city. Lopez was booked on suspicion of murder and held without bail.
