Daughter’s Fiance Shot by Enraged Father

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A man who believed his daughter’s fiance had beaten the woman’s child walked into the hospital where the child was being treated and fatally shot the fiance, police said Friday.
Charles Edward Jones, 48, of Nashville, was being held in Metro Nashville Jail after his arrest at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was charged with murder in the Thursday night shooting of Robert Gann, 23, of Hendersonville, said Police Sgt. Luther Summers. The child was listed in poor condition with severe head injuries.
