Thieves Take Parrot Out to Ballgame?
Associated Press
NEW YORK — Police said Wednesday they were seeking thieves who broke into the Children’s Zoo in Central Park and made off with a five-foot boa constrictor, two parakeets, three rabbits and a parrot named Peanuts who likes to squawk “Let’s go, Mets!”
Parks Department spokesman Gary Zarr said a night watchman startled an intruder in the zoo’s enclosed lobby Tuesday night.
The man fled through a window, and another man was spotted outside, Zarr said.
