BIG KNAC ATTACKS

Two ex-KNAC listeners expressed their views in Calendar Jan. 19. Steve Bronston on the Letters Page called heavy-metal fans “drug-crazed delinquents.” In the Pop Eye column, an anonymous other--after first bragging about his age and monetary status (30, with a considerable disposable income)--thinks “the station would rather have me as a listener than three teen-agers from Placenta (sic) who do bad drugs.”

My 52-year-old mother, who happens to be the Planning Director for the City of Placentia, likes heavy metal and listens to KNAC. My best friend, who is 25 and working on his MBA, loves heavy metal. I am a 28-year-old college student with a BS and I love heavy metal.
