BIG KNAC ATTACKS
Regarding KNAC’s format switch from alternative rock to heavy metal (Pop Eye, by Patrick Goldstein, Jan. 19), there is a reason why heavy-metal bands like Iron Maiden, Ratt, and Dio do not normally get radio air-play: They don’t deserve it.
I too was an avid KNAC listener who tuned in one day to hear something that resembled three chain saws and a lawn mower. I am now scanning the dial hoping some intelligent radio programmer out there will realize that there is a whole flock of listeners ready to give their support to a station that will adopt KNAC’s old format.
Sorry KNAC, no music-for-teen-agers-to-take-drugs-by for me. Thanks for the betrayal.
