MIAMI — The trial of six Miami police officers accused of involvement in a cocaine-theft ring that was blamed for the deaths of four drug smugglers will begin Sept. 29, Judge Arthur Snyder said Thursday.
Three of the defendants are charged with first-degree murder. Another is accused of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and all six face racketeering and drug-related charges. One of the suspects quit the city police force last year. Three other civilians will be tried with them.
