Santa Ana : Council Will Consider Loans for Fire Victims
Commercial disaster loans totaling $79,000 for businesses gutted by a fire that swept through the Pioneer Town Shopping Center last July will be considered by the City Council today.
The early morning fire destroyed the 40,000-square-foot center at 1002 E. 17th St., with damage estimated at more than $3 million. The loans to be considered Monday would cover uninsured losses for seven businesses.
Most of the disaster loans are financed through federal grants.
