Seven people and five corporations have been indicted on charges that they illegally sent China high-technology equipment related to U.S. nuclear-weapons production. The seven-count federal indictment, issued in Denver, charges the defendants with exporting the equipment in 1984 from the United States through Hong Kong to China, in violation of U.S. export laws. The indictment named, among others, F. L. Kleinberg and Co. and Dataventures, both of Boulder, Colo., and Richard J. Leary, former vice president of both companies.
