SPRINGSTEEN AND HUEY LEWIS WIN BRITISH AWARDS
LONDON — Americans Bruce Springsteen and Huey Lewis & the News grabbed top international honors in the annual British Phonographic Industry Awards.
Springsteen was named best international artist and Huey Lewis & the News won the award for best international group.
Phil Collins was picked as best British male artist of the year and his album “No Jacket Required” was voted Britain’s best LP.
Annie Lennox of Eurythmics was named best British female artist and her partner, Dave Stewart, picked up the award for best British producer.
