Marvis Frazier rebounded from a fifth-round knockdown to record a unanimous 10-round decision over James (Bonecrusher) Smith in a non-title heavyweight bout at Richmond, Calif.
Smith, 32, of Magnolia, N.C., floored Frazier with a roundhouse right near the end of the fifth round. Frazier, of Philadelphia, jumped up immediately after the knockdown and received an eight count from referee Hank Elespuru.
Smith, 234, had Frazier, 206 1/2, in trouble in the first and third round, but Frazier, 25, came on strong to improve his record to 16-1. Smith, who lost for the third time in four fights, is 15-5.
