Man Shot to Death When He Points Gun at 6 Officers
An unidentified man was shot to death when he pointed a loaded gun at six Los Angeles police officers at a MacArthur Park area fast-food restaurant, it was reported Thursday.
The Rampart Division officers reportedly went to the 600 block of South Alvarado Street about 9 p.m. Wednesday after complaints that the man was brandishing a semiautomatic pistol at a bar and then at a taco stand next door.
According to Lt. Charles Higbie, the man ignored orders to drop the weapon, but pointed it at the officers. Five of them, two of whom were carrying shotguns, fired. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
