JAKARTA, Indonesia — Rescue teams searched Thursday for at least 38 people missing in the waters off a remote Indonesian island after a boat carrying about 110 passengers capsized. Seventeen bodies have been reported found and 55 people were rescued.
The National Search and Rescue Agency said the PLM Sahabat II capsized Tuesday after being struck by huge waves off Flores Island, 750 miles southeast of Jakarta. The search for survivors has been hampered by heavy seas.
