Two men suspected of burglarizing more than 50 Coronado residences since November were arrested Thursday.
David Castillo Gonzalez, 22, and Jaun Mendizaun Geuitierrez, 20, were arrested after a radio was stolen from a home in the 300 block of Glorietta Boulevard, police said. Both men were described by police as transients.
The home’s owner confronted two men while they were leaving his house, police said. They fled. Gonzalez and Geuitierrez were found minutes later hiding near the Coronado Bridge.
Detective Ed Souesek said the two men were linked to the string of burglaries by police drawings. “If you hold the composites (drawings) next to the suspects, it is almost as good as a photograph,” he said.
AmonG the burglaries the two are suspected of committing is one in which jewelry valued at $180,000 was taken.
