SOUTHERN REGIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS : Woodlake Girls Beat Calvin Christian
VISALIA — Woodlake High girls’ basketball team effectively shut down the Calvin Christian offense Wednesday night, beating the Crusaders, 48-28, in the semifinal round of the State Southern Regional playoffs at Mount Whitney High School.
Woodlake, the Central Section champions and defending state Division III champion, outscored the Crusaders, 10-2, in the final four minutes of the second quarter to lead 28-16 at the half. Woodlake’s Carie Dever led all scorers with 18 points. Michele Vincent had 10 points, 14 rebounds and 5 steals for the Tigers (23-2).
Monique Honno paced Calvin Christian (20-3) with 10 points.
