Portugal, China Plan Talks on Macao Future

MACAO — Portugal and China will begin talks in Peking in May on the future of the Portuguese-administered territory of Macao, the Portuguese Diplomatic Department announced Friday.
Macao, 40 miles west of Hong Kong, is sovereign Chinese territory under temporary Portuguese administration, but details of the transfer of full control of the six-square-mile island to China have yet to be decided.
