This year, when the cameras pan to the nominees, viewers will apparently see more of the real thing--and fewer inserted mug shots of absentee stars.
The academy reports that of the 20 nominated actors and 5 directors, only Peter Weir and Harrison Ford will be no-shows. They’re both in Belize (formerly British Honduras) shooting “The Mosquito Coast.”
“Everybody else has confirmed,” said an academy rep.
