Chapman Defeated Twice in Softball
Chapman College’s softball team lost two games Saturday, to Bakersfield, 4-3, and to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 4-2, in the Northridge tournament.
Bakersfield’s Sally Heioford hit a three-run home run to erase a 3-1 Panther lead in the fifth inning. Diane Blankenship (7-3) took the loss. Chapman had two runners on in the bottom of the seventh but could not score.
In the second game, the Mustangs scored three runs in the top of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie to defeat Chapman (19-7).
