UCI Tennis Tournament : Irvine Earns Final Match Against Duke
UC Irvine qualified for the final of the Irvine-Marriott men’s tennis tournament Sunday with a 6-3 win over the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
But the No. 22 Anteaters won’t get a chance to face defending tournament champion Maryland, which beat UCI in the 1985 final. Instead, Irvine will play Duke, which beat Maryland, 5-3, Sunday.
The final will be played at 1:30 today at UCI.
In another match Sunday, Chapman lost to Arizona State, 5-1. The Panthers will play Wichita State for seventh place at noon today at Ridgeline Country Club at Orange.
UCI was led by Bruce Man Son Hing, who is 23-7 after beating Anders Mansson , 6-4, 6-2.
