Volk Center Work Runs on Schedule
Construction of the $65-million Harry J. Volk Center, Union Bank’s new 410,000-square foot operations complex in Monterey Park, has passed the midway point, and is proceeding according to schedule. Construction began in November, 1984. The center is expected to be completed and in operation by October.
Volk Center, named after Union Bank’s former chairman, is situated on a 20-acre site in the McCaslin Business Park.
One of the center’s features is a central atrium running the full length of the building and rising to the third story at its highest point. Volk Center was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and is being built by C.L. Peck Contractor.
