Higher Tax on Gasoline?
Yes, it would be folly to let the national appetite for foreign oil to soar out of control. But in the wake of falling prices, we, the consumers, are again asked to “foot the bill” for this endeavor.
Sure the easiest solution would be a higher gas tax. But for once, I’d like to see the oil companies, responsible for the oil glut to begin with, take their losses.
Oil companies make billions in profits every year. Why can’t they have the forethought to take a slight loss now, while continuing exploration, in order to secure America’s energy future for our children’s sake.
