Duarte : School Boundaries Altered
The Duarte Unified School District board has modified two elementary school boundaries to balance enrollment. Students who live in the area south of Central Avenue, north of Duarte Road, west of Highland Avenue and east of Buena Vista Avenue and go to Royal Oaks will transfer to Andres Duarte.
Supt. Robert Packer said that while the two schools are similar in size, Royal Oaks has 680 students and Andres Duarte has only 428. He said the change also will mean that the 82 students affected will be going to school closer to their homes.
