Couple on Track Struck by Train; 1 Killed, 1 Hurt

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. — A man was killed and a woman was critically injured Sunday, when a Long Island Rail Road commuter train struck them as they were sitting on the tracks. They apparently were unaware that the train was approaching, police said.
