A speeding motorcycle being pursued by law officers ran a red light and broadsided a car at a busy Upland intersection, killing one person and injuring three others, authorities said. An unidentified man was killed instantly when his bike slammed into the side of a Cadillac on Euclid Avenue at 19th Street, said California Highway Patrol Officer Steve McGrath. A passenger was critically injured. Officers chased the motorcycle rider on freeways and side streets at speeds of more than 100 m.p.h., McGrath said. A passenger on the motorcycle, who was not identified, was reported in critical condition at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland. The driver of the Cadillac, Frank Palessiro, 60, of Glendora, was reported in good condition at the same hospital. His wife, Kathleen, 47, was treated for minor injuries and released.
