American-bred colt Shahrastani completed a Derby double by winning the Irish Derby Saturday, the richest European flat race, by eight lengths at The Curragh, Ireland.
American-bred horses took the first four places. Second was Bonhomie, 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Bakharoff, who held off a late challenge from Mashkour.
Owned by Aga Khan, trained by Briton Michael Stoute and ridden by Irish-born jockey Walter Swinburn, Shahrastani won the Epsom Derby on June 4.
