$100 Million to Aid Nicaragua’s Contras: Pro and Con
Your “harshly truthful” and straightforward editorial should be mandatory reading for every congressman and senator who voted for the $100-million package for the contras . When legislators, for whatever reasons, follow a leader less than well informed, and often less than truthful, on an issue that could lead the country into war, the nation is not well served.
We are being led backward. Gunboat diplomacy belongs in the 1800s, not the 21st Century. We should be going forward. We should be using technology not to destroy but to help, to lift nations out of poverty and misery.
