Bus Bombed in Sri Lanka, 29 Die

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — A bomb demolished a passenger bus in the north-central Vavuniya district today, killing 29 people, a government spokesman said. The National Security Ministry said Tamil terrorists were responsible for the blast.
Hindu Tamils, who make up 18% of the island nation’s 16 million population, complain of discrimination by the government. Buddhist Sinhalese are the majority in this island nation off the southern tip of India.
