Ducommun Posts Big Second-Quarter Drop

Hurt by the continued recession in the semiconductor industry, Ducommun Inc. reported a 53% drop in net income for the second quarter.

The Cypress-based computer components distributor posted net income of $103,000 for the second fiscal quarter ended June 27, compared to $221,000 during the same period last year.

Revenues for the first six months were up 4% to $120.5 million, from $116.2 million during the second quarter last year.

For the six-month period, net income fell 75% to $324,000, from $1.4 million during the year-ago period. Sales for the six-month period, were up 13% to $236 million, from $208 million during the same 1985 period.
