SAN DIEGO
The car believed to have been used by two women to flee the scene of a slaying in Southeast San Diego Wednesday night has been recovered by authorities.
Officers found the abandoned 1984 Lincoln Continental near 47th Street and Martin Luther King Way late Thursday, according to Sgt. Ted Armijo.
The car was taken by two women, one of whom shot and killed John Sherman Green in his home. Police said the car is registered to another man who was with Green when he was slain.
According to police, the two men left Cynd’s Cocktail Lounge on 54th Street with the two women Wednesday night. They drove to Green’s home in the 100 block of Latimer Street, Armijo said.
Once inside, one of the women pulled a handgun and asked the men to empty their pockets. The woman then opened fire, Armijo said.
One shot hit Green in the head, killing him. A scuffle for the gun ensued, during which the other man suffered a dislocated shoulder. He escaped through a back door, and the women fled in his car.
