A 16-year-old boy flew to Des Moines from Santa Barbara four days after he was feared kidnaped from the Iowa State Fair. Jason Rodgers of Knoxville, Iowa, reportedly was persuaded by a halfway house counselor in Isla Vista to telephone his parents and tell them where he was. Iowa authorities and the FBI had launched a search for the youth. Rodgers reportedly told his parents by phone that he bought a $129 one-way airline ticket to Santa Barbara.
