Associated Press
CINCINNATI — Up to 1,000 workers evacuated the 26-story headquarters of the Kroger Co. today after an electrical fire cut off power and sent smoke throughout the building, officials said.
The blaze was thought to have started at a transformer on the second of three basement levels in the building, fire officials said. The office tower has 25 occupied floors and a 26th floor reserved for equipment. There was no estimate of damage.
