Countywide : Women Over 30 Get Aid in Finding Employment
The Santa Ana YWCA is offering free training, counseling and placement services for women 30 and older who are seeking work.
The YWCA Employment Program for Mature Women tries to match women’s skills to job openings as well as trying to discover new skills, said Bernice Byron, counselor and job developer. The session is under way and continues for four weeks, but women may enter and leave the program at any time, Byron said.
Meetings are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Ana YWCA, 1411 N. Broadway. “A number of employers are looking for mature women,” Byron said.
